About Takoradi Technical Institute (T.T.I.)
Welcome to T.T.I.
Established in 1982 through a bilateral cooperation agreement between the Government of Ghana and the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany, the Institute was founded to produce highly skilled technical professionals capable of supporting Ghana's industrial and socio-economic development.

From its humble beginnings with an inaugural enrolment of just 33 students, T.T.I. has grown into one of the largest technical institutes in Ghana, serving a dynamic student population of over 6,200 learners.

Key facilities
T.T.I. boasts an extensive learning environment comprising 52 classrooms, 30 fully equipped workshops, specialised laboratories, and modern training facilities that mirror real industry settings. Key facilities include the Yinson Welding Training Centre, AVIC Engineering Workshops, the Oil and Gas Training Unit, state-of-the-art ICT Laboratories, and a Fabrication (Fab) Lab, enabling students to gain hands-on experience using modern equipment and technologies.

Admission is open to BECE graduates and to applicants pursuing Competency-Based Training and National Proficiency programmes. Training is free under the Government of Ghana’s Free TVET Programme.
